Mr Ferdinand Achom

Director & Principal Solicitor
High Court Advocate | Criminal Defence Specialist

Ferdinand (“Ferdy”) Achom is a highly experienced criminal defence solicitor and Higher Rights Advocate with nearly three decades of frontline practice. As Director and founder of Achom & Partners Solicitors Ltd, he has built a reputation for fierce, principled, and uncompromising representation across the full spectrum of criminal law — from police station interviews to complex Crown Court trials.

For Ferdy, criminal defence is more than a profession: it is a calling rooted in fairness, compassion, and an unwavering belief in justice. He treats every case, regardless of the allegation or the client’s background, with the same seriousness and conviction. He is known for taking every case personally — immersing himself in the facts, fighting tirelessly for his clients, and ensuring that even the most vulnerable are heard, protected, and defended with dignity.

Throughout his 28-year career, Ferdy has represented thousands of individuals before the Magistrates’, Youth and Crown Courts, as well as in the High Court. His advocacy style is marked by strategic precision, forthright presentation, and a calm but powerful courtroom presence. He is trusted by clients, respected by peers, and known for achieving results through relentless preparation and a deep understanding of the law.

Ferdy founded Achom & Partners in 2010 as a sole practitioner before incorporating the firm in 2016. He built it deliberately as a small, tightly knit practice so that every client receives a truly personal, tailored service. His hands-on approach means he oversees every matter with intensity and care, ensuring that clients benefit from direct access to an experienced advocate rather than being passed between departments.

Like many practitioners in the legal aid sector, Ferdy has faced significant operational challenges over the years — obstacles that would have overwhelmed many firms. Instead, he navigated them with dignity, professionalism, and an unshakeable commitment to those who depend on him. With style and grace, he steered his practice through financial pressures, administrative hurdles, sector-wide instability and unexpected setbacks, all without ever compromising his values or his belief in helping those less fortunate. These experiences have strengthened his resolve, deepened his resilience, and reinforced his purpose: to protect the rights of every individual who seeks his help.

At the heart of Ferdy’s work is a simple principle: every person deserves a fearless advocate. Whether defending a frightened teenager in a police station or litigating a serious Crown Court matter, he brings skill, integrity, and unmatched commitment. His reputation is built not on size or scale, but on trust — the trust of clients who know he will fight for them without hesitation.

Today, Achom & Partners continues to thrive under Ferdy’s leadership as a boutique criminal defence practice known for quality, compassion, and absolute dedication to justice.
